The whole path of the Hampta Pass trek is littered with everything that one could possibly want to see when on a hiking excursion. On the hiking path that goes over Hampta Pass, the scenery abruptly shifts and becomes significantly different every few hours. The absence of any perilousness in the path is accounted for by the amount of natural beauty, which will catch you by surprise at every twist and turn of the trip. ITINERARY :

After receiving an orientation on the trek, we will start the journey from Manali in the morning. As you make your reservation for the trek, we will communicate with you by e-mail/watsapp/call about the timing of your arrival in Manali. We will take care of arranging transportation for you from this location forward, and the vehicle will carry you farther. The journey from Manali will take around two hours and cover sixteen km. Along the way, there are forty-two hairpin turns, and each one is numbered. The hike to the Chika campground, which is located on the banks of Rani Nallah, is a simple two-kilometer journey through a mixed forest of pine, green maple, and birch trees. The trek takes about an hour.

The journey for the day starts at Chika and leads you to the next location after passing through some meadows and rocky trails, as well as crossing a few streams. Maintaining proper hydration requires that you have an adequate supply of drinking water with you at all times. The picture-perfect vistas may be enjoyed from the moment the day begins. The route departs from the grasslands, which serve mostly as a grazing pasture before to the onset of the monsoon season. However, after the monsoon, these grasslands are completely covered with stunningly gorgeous and vibrant wildflowers. The route will take about an hour to trek with a steady elevation, starting with strolling along a path of meadows and then taking you to a path cut between the rock, and lifts you up to the beginning of the flat track to Balu ka Ghera. The trek will last approximately an hour. Because “balu” is the Malay word for “sand,” you’ll have no trouble figuring out where you’re going. It is a level plain made up of sand that was carried there by the creek known as Rani nalla. The rushing sound of the river can be heard following us along the route as we climb, but it becomes less intense as the gradient of the trail becomes flatter. As the path continues, it enters a level region that is covered with deposits of sand, and at this point, you become aware that you are not too far from your ultimate goal. The level region is encircled on all sides by precipitous granite cliffs that reach up to the sky and give rise to a variety of unpredictable waterfalls. Many of these cliffs are permanently blanketed in snow, so their appearance is consistent throughout the year. After another half an hour of hiking, you will arrive at your campground.

The climb up from Balu ka ghera is the steepest gradient you will encounter during the whole trek. The last rise to Hampta Pass is on the itinerary for today’s trek; yet, that is not all that lies ahead of us; the descend farther to Shea ghoru is also a difficult effort. Before you leave the campground, make sure you have a sufficient amount of drinking water with you, as you do not want to get dehydrated during the last rise to 4270 metres, which would make the hike to the summit more difficult. Therefore, ensure that you are taking in a enough amount of water during the climb. We get it to our next campground, Shea Ghoru, without incident by taking all of the necessary measures. Because this is the coldest part of your journey, make sure you have enough of woollen clothing with you. Your campsite is on a levelled grassland that is flanked on all sides by enormous granite cliffs and has a creek running just next to it. You will have a much easier time crossing this icy stream early in the morning of the next day, when the water will be moving much more slowly.

The trek gets underway a bit earlier than usual for the day since we won’t get at our campground for at least two to three hours after leaving here. We put it to good use by going on a road trip to the Chandrataal lake and soaking in the views along the route. The hike for today is a straightforward descent up to Chatru, which is the last campground close to the road that connects Manali and Kaza. However, the most enjoyable parts of the day occur in the morning. The presence of the creek running next to your campground, which brought beauty to what would have been an otherwise uninteresting location. Further, there is a tiny creek that has to be crossed using a short bridge. The bridge is not very strong, therefore only one person should pass at a time. You will then arrive at your last camping spot, Chatru, after an aerial excursion that follows the Chandrabhaga river. After that, we will go on a sightseeing trip to the Chandratal lake, and we won’t be back until the evening. In the meanwhile, you should have some rest and freshen yourself. Following our trek to the lake, we are going to set up tent for the night at the Chatru location.

The next morning, after breakfast at the Chatru campground, transportation will be organised for trekkers in accordance with their needs. We will then say our goodbyes to everyone and set back to Manali, which is around a four to five hour drive from Chatru. We will stop at any point along the way for lunch and after reaching manali, all the trekkers have to plan their journey to their homes accordingly.
