Overview :

The name “Har-ki-Dun” literally translates to “the valley of God,” and that’s exactly what it is. It is located in the Uttarkashi district, at an elevation of 3,566 metres, near the foot of Fateh Parbat, where it is tucked away in the far north-western corner of Garhwal, next to the watershed that separates the Sutlej and Yamuna rivers. This valley, which is in the form of a cradle and is located south-east of the Jamundhar Glacier, is flanked on three sides by glistening peaks on the north-west side and by thick forests of pine, deodar, and other coniferous trees on the south-east side. Bird watchers and others who just like nature will find this woodland to be a veritable paradise due to its abundance of animals. The towering colossus of Swargarohini, which stands at 6096 metres, preside over the valley. The trail travels along the side of the Supin River, affording hikers a breathtaking vista of the Supin Valley and the Fateh Parbat mountain range in the distance.

ITINERARY :

Drive to Sankri via Mussoorie, which is 220 km away. Visit the Kempty Falls, which are located 15 km away from Mussoorie. Continue the trip in the direction of Purola, which is situated at an elevation of 1,524 metres. It is also known as the “Gate to Har ki Dun” because of its location in the midst of a dense woodland region that is home to a variety of species, most notably the endangered snow leopard. Spend the night in the rest house or the tent provided in Sankri.

The vistas of the valley and the surrounding forest area that can be seen from Sankari are quite breathtaking. Beginning the journey to Pauni Garaat via the Rupin River is the first step. You should make your way to Pauni Garaat, a little settlement that is located at an elevation of 7,000 feet and is known for its fragrant wild roses, thick deodar trees, and abundant flora. There is a supply of sacks in addition to the rest house or tents that will be used for overnight accommodations.

The path is a wonderful one; it takes some exciting twists and turns as it descends and rises, before ultimately becoming more direct on the left side of the valley and entering a stunningly lovely woodland region. As you make your way up to Gangar Village, take in the beautiful chestnut, willow, and walnut trees along the road. Move in the direction of the campground at Kalkattiyadhaar. tents for overnight stays.

After arriving at Kalkattiyadhar, go on to the valley by travelling via a hanging bridge that is positioned above the Rupin River. After that, continue climbing till you reach Har ki Doon, passing through picturesque pastures, thick coniferous vegetation, and stunning meadows along the way. A ridge that will provide a vantage point from which to observe Har ki Dun, you will need to go via scenic streams, peaceful meadows, and tranquil valleys in order to get at the basecamp in Har ki Dun. As you make your way towards the campground, you can anticipate a steady ascent at first, followed by periods of steeper terrain in between. Stay the night in the camp.

The journey back to Kalkattiyadhar will take between four and five hours and will take you to Osla area. This is the area where Duryodhana from the Mahabharatha was venerated and worshipped. Camping and spending the night in Kalkattiyadhar for tonight.

Today, we should begin our trek back to the Sankri village. As you make your way to Sankri, take in the breathtaking scenery along the way and bask in the unspoiled splendour of the natural environment. The hotel or tent house that you stay at for the night is going to be local.

The 7th and last day of the incredible trek through Har Ki Dun is now behind you. Following breakfast, make your way back to Dehradun. Say goodbye to nature and new friends, also promise to come back again soon.
