It is also known as the “Gate to Har ki Dun” because of its location in the midst of a dense woodland region that is home to a variety of species, most notably the endangered snow leopard. Spend the night in the rest house or the tent provided in Sankri.

After breakfast, when everyone who is going on the trek is ready, we will travel to Taluka. From there we will start hiking to Dhatmir village. Wildflowers, in particular wild irises and roses, may be found all along the route, and the trees that can be found there include deodar, chestnut, and bamboo. Continue on the route once you go through a bridge that goes over a brook. You will have to go through a thick forest, and you will be able to see the Supin river below you as it winds through the trees. As you continue your journey across the wilderness, you will eventually stumble upon the settlement of Dhatmir. There is the option to spend the night in a homestay or at the camp.

You will spend the day hiking towards Dharkot, the trail’s last settlement, and the expansive meadow of Vishkhopri, which is filled with an abundance of deodar trees. During today’s trekking, you will pass through some divinely lovely areas and get a glimpse of some sights that will leave you feeling moved to tears. You will camp in Vishkhopri, which is located at the bottom of the valley in which Maldaru Lake is located. Set up your tents in the enormous meadow, and once you’ve had some delicious and nutritious meals, turn in for the night. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another world.

This morning you will wander through the Batagor meadows, which are filled with vibrant flowers such as geraniums, marigolds, and gentians in purple hues. Because of the trail’s pristine environment, this section of the trek has some of the most breathtaking scenery. It is possible to see snow-capped mountains from the route, and you will need to use temporary wooden planks to over an ice creek. The trail is all green due of the vegetation and the trees. After a relatively short climb, you will arrive at your campsite in Rashi, from where the Manju Kanta Pass as well as the path that you followed will be readily visible. After you have slept for a while and had some time to relax at Rashi, you may sit outside and marvel at the breathtaking scenery. Following the consumption of meals, please make like feel yourself at home in one of the tents.

The journey through the boulder section is going to be the most difficult part of the trip today, and the route is going to be steep, so be sure you keep your balance. This route will bring you to Maldaru Lake if you ascend gently while crossing the unstable rocks. The lake is rather large (three to four km), and even a single glimpse of this holy lake is enough to leave one speechless. Both Brahma Kamal and Phen Kamal may be found in large numbers in this region; however, both of these species are difficult to discover and are restricted to locations with a high elevation. In addition to other Himalayan peaks, it is possible to make out Swargarohini peak 1, 2, 3, and Black Peak. Bandarpunch peak is also visible. Establish your base camp next to this beautiful lake, take in the breathtaking scenery that this location has to offer, nourish your body with some wholesome food, and then turn in for the night.

Leave this campground at Odari and travel in the direction of Devsu Bugyal to take advantage of the excellent morning views of Bandarpunch and Swargarohini. As soon as you begin your descent, you will be greeted with breathtaking vistas of snow-covered mountains. Travel through the thick forest, and keep in mind that the descent will become more difficult at this point, so be extremely cautious. Your tent for the day is located in the expansive meadow known as Devsu Bugyal. You should make your way to this bugyal (meadow) and set up your tents here so you may enjoy the peace and quiet. After you have eaten and relaxed here for a while, rest to your tents for the night.

After descending all the way to Seema or Cheludgad from Devsu Bugyal, you will then begin your trek down to Taluka, which is where the journey first began. Continue on the same path through the dense woodlands and see if you can see any birds or langurs along the way. After reaching Taluka, transportation arrangements will be made for you, and you may then take pleasure in the 11-kilometer trip to Sankri.

The 8th and last day of the incredible trek through Maldaru Lake Trek is now behind you. Following breakfast, make your way back to Dehradun from Sankri. Say goodbye to nature and new friends, also promise to come back again soon.
