Overview :

The Valley of Flowers is one of the few trekking adventures that can be experienced throughout the monsoon season. It is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful treks in the Himalayas. A well-crafted package that is enveloped in the colours of pleasure, the Valley of Flowers walk is a wonderful experience. “Foolon ki Ghati” is one of the most well-known monsoon treks in Uttarakhand, which is situated in the Himalayas. It is also known as the Valley of Flowers. From July to August is the ideal time to explore this location. This valley is well-known for its abundant flora and wildlife, which includes a wide range of colourful blooms as well as rare and endangered species. In 1982, this valley was designated as a National Park. This whole bright valley is a mix of panoramic mountain ranges, lush green meadows, colourful flowers, and clouds, which, when taken as a whole, make it the greatest location for those who are interested in nature, photography, and botany. There are a great number of fairy tales that are connected to this valley, and the most typical of them involves falling asleep due to the aromas of flowers. A pilgrimage path in Uttarakhand known as Govind Ghat serves as the starting point for the Valley of Flowers trek. Because of the many flower patches of vibrant hues that are adorned with flowing mountain streams, dewy meadows that are nestled in the lap of snow-capped mountains, a high altitude calm lake, holy rivers, and sacred pilgrimage sites, it is possible to readily refer to it as the most colourful Himalayan Odyssey. Your mind will be permanently imprinted with the immense beauty of this incredible assortment of vibrant flowers, which boasts the greatest variety of wildflower species. This experience will live with you for the rest of your life.

ITINERARY :

At the end of the first day, you arrive in Haridwar and indulge in a delectable breakfast before boarding a taxi to go to Joshimath. You arrive in Joshimath after travelling a distance of 290 km over the course of ten hours. The ideal journey from Haridwar to Joshimath is one that will leave your mind and soul in awe of the breathtaking scenery along the way. The routes of Rudraprayag, Devprayag, and Karnaprayag will take you through some breathtaking landscapes, including hills and valleys. During your time at Devprayag, you will get the opportunity to see the emerald green confluence of the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers. After the confluence of the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers, there are three further river confluences between Haridwar and Joshimath. These river confluences are tiny in comparison to the first confluence.

After indulging in a hearty breakfast in the wee hours of the morning, take a taxi to reach Govindghat, and then continue on for another four km to reach Pulna. It is the last site on this journey that can be reached by motor vehicle. From Joshimath, which is located 22 miles away, Govindghat, which is situated at an elevation of 5,500 feet, is a well-known pilgrimage site for the Sikh community. It is the town that is located closest to the well-known Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara as well as the Hemkund lake. Ghangaria, which is located at an elevation of 10,200 feet, is the base camp for the Valley of Flowers, and it can be reached by trekking nine km from Pulna. The journey takes place along a stone route that is kept in good condition and may be traversed on foot while walking or by riding a pony. After a stroll of five km, you will be able to take in the breathtaking and crystal clear vista of Hathi Parvath.

You should get an early start on the day by eating a full meal first thing in the morning. You may reach Hemkund lake and the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara by embarking on a ten-kilometer journey, also known as the Hemkund Sahib Yatra. At an elevation of 14,200 feet, the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara is the Gurudwara that holds the title of being the tallest in the world. From Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib, the last five km of the trip include a difficult ascent. The uphill climb is one that many people would rather go on a pony. A stay of more than one night is not permitted at Hemkund Sahib. It is recommended that you depart from Hemkund Sahib around two o’clock in the afternoon in order to be back in Ghangaria before the sun goes down.

In order to ensure that you have sufficient time to spend in the breathtaking Valley of Flowers, you make an early start on your day. The five-kilometer walk that we are going to do today is not very hilly and travels across virtually the same level throughout. It transports you to the most vibrant valley, which is lavishly decorated with exotic flowers of a wide range of colours. This vivid landscape, which is enhanced by snow-covered mountains, white clouds, and a river that glides down the valley, is similar to a canvas that has been painted. Because the valley is recognised as a wildlife reserve, horses are not permitted to enter there. It is recommended that you take some time to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you before returning to Ghangaria for the night.

On the fifth day, we will make the journey back to Govindghat, which is a 14-kilometer / five-hour hike. Following our arrival, we make our way back to Joshimath and spend the night at one of the neighbouring hotels or guest houses.

As you make your way back to Haridwar, take in the breathtaking scenery of Uttarakhand, revel in the picturesque vistas, and relive the memories of your six-day journey through the pristine Himalayan valley. Because you may make brief stops to take photographs, visit the little hamlets along the way, and feast on the magnificent Pahadi food at the wayside dhabas, this ten-hour road trip has the potential to be your perfect encounter with the Himalayas.
